Paver Cleaning & Re-Sanding

Deep cleaning and joint re-sanding to restore appearance and longevity.

Paver Cleaning & Re-Sanding for Charlotte-area homes

Dirt, algae and weeds work into paver joints and wash the color out of the surface. We deep clean the pavers, clear the old joint material and re-sand the joints so the surface looks right and stays locked together.

Signs it is time

  • The pavers look dark, gray or green compared with when they were laid
  • Weeds or moss grow up through the joints
  • Joint sand has washed out and the gaps look empty
  • Pavers rock or shift slightly when you step on them
  • Ants or insects push sand up out of the joints

How it works

  1. Inspect

We look at the pavers, the joints and the base, and note any settling or damaged units before we start.

  2. Deep clean

We remove the dirt, organic growth and stains from the paver faces and clear out the old joint material.

  3. Re-sand

We refill the joints with fresh sand so the pavers stay tight and weeds have less room to grow.

  4. Protect

We recommend a sealer where it suits the surface, to hold the color and the new joints in place.

Questions about paver cleaning & re-sanding

Why do pavers need re-sanding?

The sand in the joints locks the pavers together and keeps water, weeds and insects out. Over time rain and cleaning wash it out. Without it, pavers can shift and weeds take hold.

Should pavers be sealed after re-sanding?

Often, yes. A sealer helps hold the new joint sand in place and brings back the color of the pavers. We tell you if a sealer suits your surface.

Will cleaning damage my pavers?

We choose the cleaning method for your pavers and the stains on them, so the surface is cleaned without being worn away.
